OSVP 2022: our 15 finalists revealed

Since launch, the Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa and the Middle East rewards young start-ups that harness Information and Communication Technologies to meet the needs of local populations, from education to health, agriculture, mobile payment, and sustainable development. Over the past 12 years, almost 12,000 applications have been received, resulting in 36 start-ups winning financial and technical support, and 86 projects coming to life.

A promising 2022 competition

As in previous years, applications for this year’s competition illustrate the richness and diversity of positive impact projects in Africa and the Middle East.

There are two prize categories up for grabs:

  • The International Grand Prix offers three overall prizes for social and/or environmental projects.
  • The International Women’s Prize is awarded to ventures led by women entrepreneurs or with the primary purpose of improving women’s lives.
This year, 48 applications have been shortlisted from 1,370 applications. The various selection committees have deliberated and chosen the following finalists, who will now go on to compete for the three Grand Prix awards and Women’s Prize.
