What problem does your company want to solve? :
Farmers in Sierra Leone face low income due to limited markets. Freetown produces 69% of organic waste, causing environmental degradation. Limited access to value-added markets and deforestation.
What solution does your company provide? :
Our company focuses on agricultural sustainability, effective waste management, economic empowerment, value addition, and environmental protection to create a sustainable and profitable agribusiness.
Describe your project :
Our company is committed to sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental protection. By cultivating coconut trees and buying from local farmers, we promote sustainable agriculture practices and help support local communities. We utilize every part of the coconut, from the fruit to the shells, by converting them into coconut oil, biscuits, and charcoal briquettes for bio-fuel. In doing so, we reduce waste and mitigate the environmental impact of deforestation and carbon emissions. Our products are healthy and nutritious, providing a range of health benefits to our customers. Additionally, our operations create jobs for local communities, providing economic opportunities and improving livelihoods. We believe that our commitment to sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental protection is not only good for the planet, but also good for people and businesses. Our initiative 'flips the script' by challenging the traditional linear model of agriculture and promoting a circular economy. Instead of discarding waste from the coconut tree, we utilize every part of it to create multiple products. This not only reduces waste but also creates a sustainable source of income for local farmers. Our initiative challenges the conventional belief that agriculture must involve wasteful practices and highlights the potential for sustainable and profitable alternatives.
