In Liberia, waste management activities are getting worse daily due to shortage of a comprehensive waste management framework, the absence of guidelines regarding the responsibilities of waste generators and the decision marker’s lack of intent to design and implement a sustainable and integrated waste management system. Liberia like many countries in the world is faced with the challenge of increased waste generation. Over 780 tons of wastes are generated in the Liberian capital alone daily. Additionally, the with high unemployment rate in Liberia and an estimated 64% of Liberians living below the poverty line of which 1.3 million live in extreme poverty. Biogas is the combination of gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste.
