What problem does your company want to solve? :
Youth unemployment in Sierra Leone is at 60%, with university graduates facing an even higher rate of 70%. Impact Hub addresses the high unemployment rate among university graduates.
What solution does your company provide? :
Our solution comprises three key components: a STEM Program, Skills Match (an online freelance marketplace), and an Entrepreneurship Education Program.
Describe your project :
STEM and Creative Education Program: In recent years, there has been a growing emphasis on STEM education due to its importance in driving innovation and economic growth. It prepares students for future careers by equipping them with a broad range of skills that are increasingly in demand across various industries. Impact Hub’s STEM program aims to equip university graduates with in-demand skills that align with the current and future workforce needs. These skills greatly enhance their critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, which are considered essential for success in the 21st-century workforce. Skills Match - Skills match is a freelancing platform, where graduates can offer their services at a fee to multiple customers or clients. The platform will provide access to highly skilled graduates from our STEM program, offering a wide range of services from program management ,virtual assistant, programming etc. This model offers businesses the ability to tap into specialized skills and expertise as needed, without the commitment of hiring full-time employees. Entrepreneurship Education Program: The rationale behind the entrepreneurship program is to empower young graduates with the skills, knowledge, and resources to become successful job creators and entrepreneurs, driving economic growth in Sierra Leone. The program’s focus will be graduates from our community who are passionate about entrepreneurship and seeking to start their own businesses.
