Describe your project :
Our project, Educube, addresses the critical issue of educational inequality by providing innovative ICT solutions tailored to underserved communities in Africa and the Middle East. We repurpose shipping containers into standalone digital learning hubs, equipped with solar panels for power, satellite connectivity, and disability-friendly design. These hubs are portable and resistant to extreme weather conditions, ensuring access to quality education even in remote areas. Inside each Educube, students and adults have access to interactive screens, internet connectivity, and a range of digital learning tools. Our solution fosters peer-to-peer learning and provides a conducive environment for skill development. With satellite connectivity, even the most isolated communities can access educational resources, breaking down barriers to learning. Educube aims to mitigate the digital learning gap prevalent in regions like Sierra Leone, where limited access to digital tools and resources hampers educational opportunities. UNESCO reports that approximately 21% of primary school-age children in Sierra Leone are out of school, highlighting the urgent need for innovative solutions like Educube. Furthermore, our project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education. By providing access to quality education for underserved communities, we contribute to the eradication of poverty, improved health outcomes, and sustainable economic development
