Describe your project :
Recently there has been a decline on childcare as a result of parents’ failure to follow prescribed programmes. On April 2023, UNICEF launched its annual State of the World Children’s report focusing on immunization. The report revealed a decline in vaccination coverage. Similarly, data from the MoHW in Botswana show that there has been a decline in routine immunization coverage since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, national routine immunization coverage for the pentavalent vaccine (a critical vaccine that prevents five childhood diseases) declined from 79% in 2019 to 70% in 2021. This continued decline in routine immunization coverage has resulted in outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, including the polio outbreak declared in October 2022 triggering two rounds of polio immunization campaigns. At Baby Care, we assist parents with healthcare of their children through technology. We have developed a healthcare technology that will assist parents with the management of baby growth charts and routine immunization. The solution is accessible via a web browser, mobile application and USSD technology for inclusion of those using feature phones. With this technology, parents can now securely capture baby growth and vaccine information as well as securely sharing it with the relevant and authorized healthcare providers. This is equipped with the scheduling and notification system for both baby grow than immunization workflow automation.
