Afrikcraft is an online marketplace featuring a user-friendly interface that enables local craftsmen in Cameroon to sell their products to local consumers. This platform aligns with government efforts to safeguard local producers and promote import substitution within the country. Utilizing an existing website and mobile application, Afrikcraft will implement an aggressive online marketing strategy by linking and sharing producers' goods on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This approach aims to cultivate a local audience that will serve as the primary market and encourage local craftsmen to join the platform with their products, thereby accessing the existing market. To attract a local market, we have developed a user-friendly website and mobile application designed to target a local audience. We plan to make the site bilingual to cater to both French and English speakers in Cameroon and integrate the widely used mobile payment system, MOMO. Additionally, we have simplified the purchasing process, allowing customers to search based on location, price, or quality, which facilitates the use of this platform. Through partnerships with local and inter-urban transport agencies, we have established a cost-effective and reliable delivery system. Our project is committed to protecting Cameroon's cultural heritage by preserving its arts and crafts, providing a sustainable and resilient online marketplace.
