Describe your project :
SolPreserve revolutionize fish preservation in Freetown's coastal communities, addressing critical socio-economic and environmental challenges. By introducing a solar-powered container cold room, we are pioneering a sustainable solution that not only enhances food security and economic opportunities but also sets a new standard for environmentally responsible development. SolPreserve directly tackles the issue of high post-harvest losses, which significantly impact the livelihoods of fishermen, Women and the availability of nutritious protein fish in the market. By extending the shelf life of the catch through optimal storage conditions, our solution minimizes economic losses and ensures a more reliable income for coastal and market communities. SolPreserve is also essential in promoting environmental sustainability. By harnessing solar energy for refrigeration, we reduce reliance on fossil fuels and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, aligning our efforts with global climate change mitigation goals. This demonstrates our commitment to responsible and sustainable development practices, setting a new standard for eco-friendly solutions in the field of food preservation.
