Describe your project :
Route 360 Solutions Initiative (R360SI) is a plastic recycling project that uses plastic waste as an alternative to cement to meet construction needs and reduce marine/plastic pollution and climate change in Sierra Leone. As a youth-led initiative, R360SI employ a community-based approach to collect single-plastic waste from homes and public places and transform it into eco-friendly building materials for house construction and pavement. These construction materials, made through an extrusion process of 20% plastic and 80% sand, absorb less water, require little mortar during use, and are 10% cheaper and two times stronger than their traditional counterparts, thus making them suitable to meet the high demand for affordable, sustainable construction materials in Sierra Leone.
