Describe your project :
Retro-cubes are innovative structures designed to support informal businesses in developing countries by providing organized, dignified, and functional shelters for street vendors. These units blend seamlessly with urban architecture and serve multiple purposes: when closed, they resemble billboards with LED displays for advertising and include solar panel roofing to supply electricity. At night, they function as street or walkway lights. When opened, Retro-cubes offer sheltered spaces for multiple vendors, featuring tables, shelves, and lighting, all extendable through a wing-like mechanism for easy setup. Integrating advanced ICT technologies, Retro-cubes enhance vendor operations with features like contactless payment systems, smart inventory management, digital signage, environmental controls, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Security is bolstered through surveillance cameras and smart locks, while solar panels and energy monitoring systems promote sustainability. By fostering entrepreneurship and improving urban aesthetics, Retro-cubes contribute to economic development and the empowerment of individuals in developing regions.
