Describe your project :
MINIMIZING PERIOD POVERTY IN RURAL COMMUNITIES is an innovative solution to addressing the rate of girls and young women drop-out from school as well as empower them to those already into TVET like tailoring, weaving, etc. This project is designed to work with school administrators and community stakeholders particularly in rural communities to provide Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) training distribute reusable sanitary pads and other hygienic products that would help girls and young women easily take care of themselves while experiencing their menstruation periods 🩸. Also, to provide girls and young women who are already in the field of producing underclothes (i.e. tailoring, weaving, etc.) with required tools/resources like machine, clothes, needles 🪡 etc. to produce their own reusable sanitary pads (Payless Pads) that will not only serve as means of majority of girls and young women getting access to the health products but also create an empowerment scheme for those producing the hygienic products while the cost will be reduced slightly to be affordable by common (low income) people to have access as compared to standard (middle income) people in every community. We believe that when integrated this innovative approach into real implementation, girls and young women will have greater contribution in schools and communities which will help to uplift the growth and developmental process of the nation Liberia, continent Africa and the Globe.
