The Dijo Donation App is an innovative mobile application designed to tackle food waste and food insecurity by connecting food providers with surplus food to those in need.
Describe your project :
Dijo Donation App offers a seamless, user-friendly platform where individuals, restaurants, and grocery stores can post listings of surplus food. These listings are then accessible to community organizations and individuals facing food insecurity, who can claim the food for free or at a reduced cost. By facilitating the redistribution of surplus food, Dijo Donation App aims to significantly reduce food waste, alleviate hunger, and promote community engagement. The app's primary goal is to address two critical issues: the environmental impact of food waste and the social issue of food insecurity. Food waste contributes to significant environmental problems, including greenhouse gas emissions and unnecessary resource use. Simultaneously, millions of people face food insecurity daily. Dijo Donation App seeks to bridge this gap by ensuring that surplus food reaches those who need it most, thereby creating a more sustainable and equitable food system.
