Describe your project :
Our project, Blue Neighborhood, aims to revolutionize community sanitation by connecting neighborhoods to advanced, sustainable wastewater treatment systems. This initiative not only facilitates access to essential sanitation services but also integrates financial support mechanisms through third-party partnerships, enabling communities to invest in these systems. A significant component of the project is the use of treated water for agricultural purposes, which supports local agriculture—like olive oil production—thereby boosting household incomes and empowering women-led small businesses in rural areas. Blue Neighborhood also focuses on educational outreach, utilizing social media campaigns to raise awareness about sustainable sanitation practices, reaching over 500,000 individuals. The project has directly provided safe sanitation to over 4,000 people, saved 37,000 cubic meters of water annually, engaged 400 youths as ambassadors for environmental sustainability, and created 10 new job opportunities. This pioneering approach not only addresses the immediate needs for sanitation but fosters long-term economic and environmental sustainability, positioning SOLVillion as a leader in integrating green technologies within community infrastructures. Our project integrates smart IoT-based wastewater treatment systems, which are particularly beneficial for women in rural communities.
